Amazon Rainforest Camping Iquitos, Peru
Our guided camping tours immerse you in the Amazon in a way only an overnight stay can deliver. You'll fall asleep to a chorus of frogs and insects, wake up to howler monkeys calling through the canopy, and spend your days trekking, fishing, and paddling through some of the most remote jungle near Iquitos. Gear, meals, and guides are included — just bring your sense of adventure.
Where You'll Camp
We run overnight camping trips across multiple locations near Iquitos, from jungle sites close to our eco-lodge along the Yanayacu River to remote areas deep inside the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve — one of the largest protected wetlands in South America. Where you camp depends on the length of your trip and what you want to see. Our guides grew up navigating these rivers and trails, and they choose campsites based on the season, water levels, and recent wildlife activity to give you the best possible experience.

What a Typical Day Looks Like
During the day, you'll trek through primary rainforest with your guide, fish for piranhas and other Amazonian species, paddle by canoe through flooded forest or along quiet tributaries, and spot wildlife like monkeys, sloths, pink river dolphins, and exotic birds. After dark, your guide takes you on a night walk to find caimans, tarantulas, tree frogs, and other nocturnal species that only come out after sunset. Meals are freshly prepared at the campsite. You sleep in ground tents with all gear provided — just bring yourself and a sense of adventure.
Standalone Camping or Combined with a Lodge Stay
You can book a camping-only expedition or combine nights in the jungle with a stay at Brisa TropicaLodge, where you'll have a private room with river views, hot meals, hammocks, and free WiFi. Many of our guests split their trip — spending a few days at the lodge for sport fishing, birding, or guided jungle hikes, then heading out for one or two nights of camping in a more remote area. We'll help you put together the right mix based on how many days you have and what kind of adventure you're after.
